WHY THE ENGINE MATTERS
Ogg comments span packets and pages
The parser validates capture patterns, segment tables, continuation flags, sequence numbers and CRCs before identifying Opus, Vorbis or Ogg FLAC comment packets. Unsupported chained or multiplexed layouts are rejected.
Cleaned comments are replaced within the original packet capacity, all changed Ogg page CRCs are regenerated, and audio packets remain byte-for-byte unchanged. Supported short fields can also be replaced when the new value fits the bounded carrier.

Are my files uploaded?
No. The cleaner runs in your browser, has no upload endpoint, and only enables the file picker after its processor assets are available locally.
Is the original file changed?
No. KillMetadata reads the original and creates a separately named cleaned copy. It never overwrites the source file.
Does OGG cleanup re-encode audio?
No. Encoded audio packets are preserved. Only supported comment or picture packet bytes change, followed by page CRC regeneration.
Which OGG codecs are supported?
This version supports strict single-stream Ogg Vorbis, Opus and FLAC. Chained, multiplexed or malformed streams are rejected instead of being rewritten unsafely.
