FLAC METADATA REMOVER
Remove metadata from a FLAC file
FLAC stores tags and artwork in metadata blocks before the lossless audio frames. KillMetadata removes supported Vorbis comments and picture blocks, then verifies the rebuilt block chain without decoding the music.
THE CLEANING PLAN
Remove what exposes you. Keep what makes the file work.
Every field is shown before the rewrite and classified by action and coverage.
- STREAMINFO codec header
- Lossless FLAC audio frames
- Seek tables and cue sheets
- Required last-metadata-block marker
- Unknown APPLICATION blocks reported as partial
- Audio fingerprints and spoken content
- Player database records
- Copies synced elsewhere
WHY THE ENGINE MATTERS
FLAC metadata is separate from audio frames
The handler validates the metadata-block chain, removes supported comment and picture blocks, preserves STREAMINFO, and updates the final-block flag.
The audio frame region is copied unchanged and the output is parsed again before download.

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED
Know the boundary before you clean.
No vague “100% clean” claim.
Are my files uploaded?
No. The cleaner runs in your browser, has no upload endpoint, and only enables the file picker after its processor assets are available locally.
Is the original file changed?
No. KillMetadata reads the original and creates a separately named cleaned copy. It never overwrites the source file.
Will FLAC remain lossless?
Yes. Cleaning does not decode or re-encode the FLAC frames.
Is cover art removed?
Supported FLAC PICTURE blocks are removed by the privacy-default profile.
The picker opens only after offline protection is active.
